After Mariah May’s in ring debut for AEW, Renee Paquette joined May in the ring. May expressed her childhood dream of becoming a wrestler, emphasizing the surreal moment of being there that night. She sent a message to Toni Storm, hoping she was watching and declaring that the New Year is all about Mariah. However, the hometown hero, Deonna Purrazzo, shocked the crowd with her arrival.

Purrazzo, addressed Toni Storm, stated that if Storm didn’t want to be there, they didn’t want her there either. Purrazzo instructed May to convey a message to Storm, asserting her status as All Elite and declaring the Age of the Virtuosa. In response, May defiantly told Purrazzo to deliver the message herself, delivering a slap and prompting Purrazzo to retaliate, ultimately sending May packing from the ring.

Purrazzo’s impact on the wrestling scene is notable. She played a pivotal role in revitalizing Ring of Honor’s women’s division and showcased her skills in various promotions, including TNA, Stardom, and WWE. Despite a brief tenure in WWE from 2014 to 2020, where she participated in the Mae Young Classic, Purrazzo’s full potential was realized after joining Impact Wrestling in 2020.
